Mary Kaye

aka Ms. I'm-The-Only-One-Who-Has-Utter-Control-Of-Steven-So-Ha-Ha

Mary Kaye is the only female on the team at Deep Sky, and she definitely wants you to know that this does NOT mean she is incompetent! We'll vouch for that. Mary Kaye works in another corner of the "office" so we don't see her much, except for when she comes and gets some coffee, or cleans, or pets the cats. And that's actually fairly frequent, so it was stupid of us to say that we don't see her much.

The "Real Boss at Deep Sky" originally comes from New Mexico. She attended the University of New Mexico to major in music, then switched to about 4,000 different colleges (including Julliard) with approximately the same number of different majors. Ironically, after all this schooling, Mary Kaye never did get an actual degree, but neither her nor the rest of the staff think that the paper is what matters. Everybody knows firsthand, and we promise, that even though she is a woman, she is still extremely competent!

Mary Kaye, like Rob, provides quite a bit of comic relief. She has numerous stories about Steve which we like to hear. Since she has been around computers for a very, very long time, she also relates many "old time" stories. The interns are especially amazed by these, as they have never even seen a computer whose speed was measured in kiloHertz...
